Educating residents about the importance of creating a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in the community in order to curb the epidemic of food related diseases that exists is an initial priority that has to be achieved in order for this work to be successful. We have developed curriculums that not only educate the residents about these issues but also empower them to be major parts of the solution that is 100 Seeds Of Change.
Developing a healthy lifestyle can be very difficult, especially when trying to figure it out on your own. In this workshop, Health Net - California will be teaching the keys to good nutrition and demonstrating physical activities that will help guide you to a happier, healthier future.
After learning the great information about nutrition with Health Net- California, this class provided by SJLI’s F2P Culinary Club will showcase different recipes with hand on training on how to prepare them. This class give the residents extra tools to put their new found nutritional education into action.

Food security can start in your own back yard, on your patio, or even your window sill. All it takes is a little know how, patience, and support. We at SJLI will show you that you don’t need to have the largest yard space to grow your own food. In this workshop you will learn the basics of gardening and start on your path to being an urban farmer.
